How To Shop For A New TV [article from Articleranks]

How To Shop For A New TV

Picking the right TV is a tough task now, I almost wish there were less TVs on the market just so I didn't have to wade through so many different features etc to find one I like! Although I guess having so many on the market and so many new ones coming up that is pushes prices down so it is actually a good thing. Choosing a TV is not something that you should take lightly, yes you could just go into an electrical store and choose one quickly based on the price and features they list, but really you need to use the following 3 steps to help you choose:

Pick the right size for your needs: Bigger is not always better when it comes to TVs. There are huge units available now, right the way up to 60 inches and beyond, but think about the size you really need, you might be better off with a 32 LCD TV depending on the room it goes in. Remember if you get too close to a larger TV then the picture quality will look worse than on smaller models, you need to be quite far back to really appreciate a 55 inch TV.

Choose the features you must have: Instead of trying to look at each TV and compare its features against all the others ones, which is a huge task, then it is much easier instead to look through some of the most popular modes and make a list of all the features you really want, and how important you think they are. Once you have done that you'll have a quick way to eliminate TVs that definitely don't meet your requirements so you can concentrate on the few that do.

It might sound like a lot of effort to create a list of features you want as you will have to research each one to see if it is actually any good or just a clever gimmick, but trust me it is worth the effort.

Narrow it done to 1: This is where you have a shortlist of say 3 TVs that you just can't decide about. Now is the time to start digging around to find out the best deals and also looking up reviews of those models online, preferably from big independent sites. By checking out reviews then you can find out about any problems which you can't spot from looking through a list of features, but watch out for reviews that seem vague or biased.

If you can't decide between 2 or 3 different TVs in the end, and they are all a similar price, with similar features and reviews, then really you would be happy with any of them and you are wasting your time brooding over the small details. Flip a coin to decide between them, seriously, you've done your research and know they are all good so you will be happy with any of them.
